Pamela Anderson asserts that the production team behind the Baywatch movie from 2017 at first asked her to appear in the film for no pay at all.

According to the actress, who became famous for her role as C.J. Parker in the television series that aired in 1989, the makers of the film have been calling her nonstop to see whether she would be interested in participating in the project.

“The situation was getting from bad to worse. They told me that they needed a favor and wanted me to fulfill it, “said Anderson, 55. “I responded by stating, “I do favors for animals, not for Paramount,” as my response. Simply put, there was a great deal of intimidation involved. They wanted me to do it for nothing, ostensibly as some kind of tribute to them. I yelled to them, “Come on, boys. What do you mean, really?'”

In the end, she gave her consent to appear in a cameo role without speaking any lines. Regarding the matter, she stated, “I ended up okay. No complaints.”

The request for a statement from PEOPLE was not immediately met with a response from a spokeswoman for Paramount.

Anderson has also disclosed to Variety that she did not fare well when the Baywatch television series was leased to Prime Video. “The makers of Baywatch made a fortune off of the show. Back then, I just did not have access to adequate representation. Or the relevant expertise. When you participate in a television show, you have no way of knowing that it will become so successful, and as a result, you are essentially giving your life up in exchange for it.”

Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas appeared in the Baywatch movie that was released in 2017 and was directed by Seth Gordon. Anderson makes her appearance at the very end in slow motion, and even though she does not have any lines, she is announced as the “new captain” of the squad.

In the year 2016, Johnson gave fans a sneak peek at his appearance by posting a photo of himself and Anderson together on Instagram along with the caption, “She gave the world “CJ Parker,” who went on to become one of the most famous characters of an entire generation, and she did so while starring in the most successful television show in history. Pamela Anderson, who is just as stunning as always, has joined the cast of #BAYWATCH, and we couldn’t be happier! Without you, we would not have been able to complete this movie. Thank you for visiting. Happy to hear you had a great time hanging out with us!”

The actress stated in a recent interview with PEOPLE that her sons “encouraged me to tell my tale” in the form of a new documentary and memoir titled Love, Pamela, both of which are scheduled to be released on Tuesday.

“[There is] a little bit of worry before it comes out because this has been practically a year of therapy going through my life from my first memory to my final memory,” she added. “[There is] a little bit of anxiety before it comes out because this has been a year of treatment.” “I take a great deal of pride in it. It is something that I penned myself, word for word. I didn’t have a collaborator. I did not have a ghostwriter or anything else like it.”

She continued by saying, “It’s just one girl’s tale of how I made it through: a small-town girl traveling to Los Angeles and just going through all the wild and crazy things I did and then circling around and going home.” “It’s just one girl’s story of how I made it through.”

She stated that the process of contemplation helped expose some buried feelings. “I had no idea how much anger I had inside of me, nor did I know how therapeutic it was going to be for not just me, but for everyone around me, like my mother,” Anderson said. “I had no idea how much anger I had inside of me.” “This has been a process of healing for me. I am overjoyed to be able to share it, and I pray that it may motivate others.”
